Refinery Explodes in Wibaux, MT

Two injured in Explosion near Wibaux, Mt at the Custom Carbon Processing plant on Saturday December 29,at 3 p.m. Mountain time. Two men, Aaron and Josh, were taken by ambulance to Dickinson, ND.

“Evacuate the area near the plant. The concerns of the gas smells and other

Flammables.” Stated an officer with Wibaux County Sheriff department.

Aaron was released later in the day and Josh was transferred to the burn unit in Bismarck, ND. Off the record a friend of the Semi driver stated that condensate was sent straight to the shaker and the fumes caught on fire. The friends relative brought the condensate mix with oil to the plant. This has not been confirmed. People located in Beach, ND and Wibaux, MT had concerns about safety at the facility and Montana DEQ was contacted over the summer.

The two men were former employees of Bull Dog Inc. out of Gillette, Wyoming. Josh has two young girls in Gillette, Wyoming and worked at the facility since it opened. The company website states “The Michels salt water disposal well is CCP’s first disposal facility. Currently, the Michels well can handle a volume for injection of around 2,200 bbls per day.” www.customcarbonprocessing.com

"The company is hoping their employees will be ok, “ stated Mark Hurst the Research and Development Consultant for the Canadian Company.

The plant had a grand opening in May of 2012. It was separating the oil from the salt water with a centrifuge system. A centrifuge is usedto separate colloidal particles suspended in a liquid.

Custom Carbon had five full time employees that worked at the plant on rotation. The plant has a 10,000-pound propane tank on location used to heat six 400 Barrel-holding tanks. Four of the holding tanks had oil.

Tank one was used for water for a power washer. Tank 2was used for water to go down an injection well. Tank 3 was an oil tank with water that needed to be separated from oil. Tank 5 ran into the tri-canter and centrifuge. Tank 6 was for sale of oil from tanks 3 and 4. Sludge and water separated from 3, 4, and 5 were used to take most of the water and oil to be put in the sale’s tank. The tanks needed the levels above 10 feet to have a truck come in and haul good oil. Taylor trucking was hauling the oil for the company.

The company was hauling oil from their facility in Gillette, Wyoming to Wibaux, Montana.

Power Fuels delivered salt water to the plant. The company has a facility located in Gillette, Wyoming and recently sold the location in Sidney, Montana. The company is on the stock market as a penny stock under GRNO.
